In accordance with the occupational safety and work equipment regulation, periodic control of electrical installations is a mandatory process to be carried out together with lightning rod and grounding controls in one-year periods. Doğansoy, with its experience in the sector, operates completely in periodic electrical installation control and reporting.
Periodic control of the electrical installation should be carried out not only at the first moment of installation but also periodically as stated in the regulation.
How is Electrical Installation Control Performed?
In electrical installation controls, it is necessary to carry out installation controls of the enterprises in accordance with the relevant standards and regulations. Among these processes, control with thermal camera is more than important.
In this way, the problematic area should be detected and necessary precautions should be taken before causing major damage. Panels and parts that may be heated with thermal camera are checked and reported. It is checked whether the leakage current relays in the facility are working or not, whether they are suitable or not by testing the opening currents and times.
Which Regulations Govern Electrical Installation Periodic Controls?
Electrical installation periodic controls are carried out according to the relevant regulations within the scope of the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment published in the official gazette dated 25.04.2013 and numbered 28628.
For Fixed Installations
For stationary operation: It must be done at least once a year.
For Non-Fixed Facilities
For fixed operating elements: At least once a year
For relocatable operating staff: At least once every 6 months
Who Performs Periodic Inspections of Electrical Installations?
Periodic inspections of electrical installations, grounding installations, accumulator and lightning rod installations, transformers and similar electrical installations are carried out by electrical engineers, technical teachers, electrical technicians or high technicians.
It is obligatory for the persons who will carry out periodic inspections to receive training and the organisations that will carry out periodic inspections to obtain a service qualification certificate or to be accredited. The controls and measurements performed in electrical installation periodic control and measurements are as follows;
Detection of electrical elements such as all, switch, fuse, residual current relay, ups socket and mains socket.
Residual current relay tests.
Voltage drop measurement
Measurement and control of current carrying capacity of cables in switchboards
Connection controls of conductors in switchboards
Control of protection of switchboards against external non-electrical influences
Check of single line diagram and detailed descriptions
Control of cables in fuse boxes and panels against mechanical effects
Control of earthing and neutral busbars
Earthing measurement and controls
Loop impedance measurements
Insulation resistance measurements
Temperature control with thermal camera
